Football is a sensation throughout the globe and no gender no nationality can separate the fan's love for the sport and the sport has only grown in the love provided by their fans. The sport is mainly believed to be a men’s favorite but that’s actually quite wrong.
The sport has many female followers all around the globe as well as many players. The women’s football is also a trending sport aiding its popularity in the female gender. Iranian female soccer fans entered the national stadium for the first time in 40 years on Thursday 10th October to watch their Iranian team thrash Cambodia 14-0 in Tehran.
Iran's ban on women attending sports stadiums is not written into law or constitution but was put in place shortly after the 1979 Islamic Revolution and was practiced thoroughly.
But following pressure from the human rights group and the sport's world governing body FIFA, Iran agreed to permit women to enter the stadium and liberate the women’s rights in the process.
The initial allocation of 3,500 tickets for female fans was quickly sold out -- reportedly in under an hour -- before an additional 1,100 were released for the World Cup qualifier.
With this historic step in the history of the sport for Iran, it could very well lay the foundation for other reforms in the nation that have been oppressing the women and the men too. Football has again proved to be crucial in world politics and culture manipulation.
