Research by Kotak Institutional Equities points out that despite ongoing weak economic circumstances, the Indian market is selling at rich pricing. Many monthly high-frequency indices suggest that the economic circumstances have worsened further over the past few months. The present decline is due to structural factors, so mere monetary and fiscal policy stimulus may not be sufficient to revitalize the economic system.
