As Cyclone Mandous approaches, Chennai experiences heavy rain and strong winds

Due to severe weather today, 16 flights were canceled at Chennai airport before of the landfall.

Officials reported the storm made landfall about midnight in Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram) in Tamil Nadu, between Puducherry and Sriharikota, with wind speeds of 70 km/h. Heavy rain fell along the Chennai coast.
