Australian mother of five, deprived of her citizenship, leaving two practically stateless children

An Australian mother of five imprisoned in northern Syria's collapsing al-Hawl camp has been stripped of her citizenship–retroactive by three years–leaving two of her children effectively stateless and possibly separating her family forever.

The woman, who held Australian and Lebanese citizenship, was told this week by letter of extinction of her citizenship, backdated more than three years.
