Beginning this week, Japan will begin releasing water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the ocean

On Tuesday, Japan announced that it will begin the process of releasing more than one million metric tonnes of cleaned radioactive water from the ruined Fukushima nuclear power plant on August 24. This will put into motion a plan that has garnered harsh condemnation from China.
