Betty Rainsford veteran of Belfast Telegraph paved the way to journalism for women

A distinguished writer from Belfast, who wrote all about politics and theater, who had once given an exclusive interview with Irish playwright Samuel Beckett, died when he was 99.

Betty Rainsford (Nee Lowry) has been a female editor of the Belfast Telegraph for 20 years and has had the credit for helping pave the way for other women journalists in Northern Ireland.
