In the first trial of its kind, brain implants are being used for patients suffering with opioid addiction in the US. Allegedly the implants are helping to reduce the cravings. Furthermore, the lead doctor, Ali Rezai adds that the device works as a “pacemaker for the brain.”
He however also added that the device was not a consumer technology and hence should not be used for “augmenting humans.”
