Engineers from Rice University have successfully invented a light-powered nanoparticle, which can lower the carbon footprints emitted by the chemical industry. They have devised a way to make the chemical industry go green by making the gasification process sustainable on non-fossil-fuel power.
Gasification is a process that produces synthetic gas. This gas in turn is used by the chemical industry to make fuels, fertilizer etc.
