The Chinese just celebrated 70 years of their remarkable progress in world economics and what an amazing 70 years the nation has had. It grew to become the biggest influence on international trades, markets, manufacturing and almost all the things we can think of. But now its economic ambitions need cooperation and allies.
China has been rapidly expanding its trade horizons and to do so it has undertaken the task of making some of the most ridiculously amazing and breathtakingly difficult projects to build. Just as the silk route train joining the nation along the ancient trade route known as the silk route it is planning a BRI ( Belt and Road Initiative) in Nepal which it claims will benefit the nation. India has been strengthening relations with Nepal as it is a very close neighbor and a proven close ally. China has increased its interest in Nepal which has alarmed India as it closely shares the border with the nation and developments in the region could change the conditions on the border for India too.
Projects under China’s mega connectivity initiative were proposed by many in the Himalayan state were not practical and could push Nepal into a debt trap. “Xi’s forthcoming Nepal visit would result in “historic outcomes”, as said by China on Wednesday. It also includes a new blueprint for the trans-Himalayan connectivity network. In 23 years, this would be the first official visit by a Chinese President to the Himalayan nation. The $2.75b trans-Himalayan project under the controversial BRI is considered to be one of the most ambitious infrastructure plans undertaken by the Chinese government abroad.
