Chipmaker revenue is sliding through global supply and mobile slowdown

Last year, global semiconductor firms experienced a drop in revenue as a huge market surplus and a downturn in smartphone sales began taking their toll.

Semiconductor sales totaled $418.3bn (£ 322bn) in 2019, down nearly 12 per cent from the previous year, according to research firm Gartner statistics.
