Western Japan’s Ehime prefecture is referred to as the “Citrus Kingdom”. This region is famous for producing citrus fruits all year round. Farmers insist on selling only the fruits which do not have scratches on them. This results in a large amount of wastage. More than 40 varieties are produced here such as Iyokan, Kawachibankan, Beni Madonna to name a few.
