The landmark case against the German government has been thrashed by the Berlin Administrative Court, saying that the climate change commitments are not legally binding in any court of law.
The case was a symbolic landmark in itself as it held the country responsible for violating and delaying the necessary steps to combat climate change problems and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for its citizens and for everyone on the globe.
This case was petitioned by three families in Germany who had claimed to have suffered from the drastic effect of climate change directly and had held the government responsible for their plight.
They were backed by Greenpeace initiative and thought they had a valid case and had it been accepted in the court; it would have been first of its kind in the legislative history of the world.
Governments across the globe had had power-hungry people sitting at the top of the food chain and dictating terms when the terms of dictation actually belonged to nature. The inability of politicians to see the ill effects of climate change and their irresponsible character in dealing with it has now led the world into a no return stage when it comes to pollution and the greenhouse effect.
Weather across the world has been in despair in the past decade, and the reason for it is usually handed to simple scientific knowledge and technology, but humans are as responsible for the sorry state of the environment as they are the pioneers for such unhealthy technology and excessive aspirational dues for which the cost is unprecedented.
