Combined forces of Prefix Corporation & Workhorse Group, Inc. to enhance the new Electric Delivery Vehicles

A leading American technology company, Workhorse Group, Inc., which focuses on providing cost-effective & sustainable solutions for electric mobility to the sector of transportation, has instituted a long term partnership with the experienced automotive industry veteran Prefix Corporation for the finishing design, manufacture & development of its delivery van powered by electricity of its NGEN series. This association signifies a major step in moving forward subsequently after the change of leadership of Workhorse in Feb 2019.

Both the companies have put their concentration on developing an underlying platform to support delivery vans of capacity 650ft3, 1000ft3, and 1200ft3 respectively. To make the cost more effective and the efficiency of the product to be increased, a common chassis & cab configuration will be shared by all the sizes. The latest delivery vans will be built on a framework of lower floor platform created by Workhorse while the 100% composite body & cab will be built, developed and supplied by the Prefix.

CEO of the company, Duana Hughes said: “This strategic partnership provides Workhorse with a proven partner that will allow us to remain on schedule to fulfill existing orders we have from our key customers like UPS and DHL. Through our previous partnerships with Prefix, we’ve already worked closely together and witnessed the quality of their work firsthand. With this new formal partnership in place, we’ll be able to expedite production, and completion, of the industry’s most innovative electric delivery van.”

The President of Prefix Corporation, Eric Zeile stated: “Our new collaboration with Workhorse has been a natural progression, given that we’ve already previously designed and built several prototype cabs and bodies on the Workhorse electric chassis. We are thrilled to work alongside Workhorse in producing the most efficient, cost-effective and technologically advanced last-mile delivery van.”
