With the visiting team of Bangladesh firmly in the control of a solid 175 run mountain to climb in the chase, it took some master class by the Indian bowling to curb the tide of runs from the visitors. Deepak Chahar being the pick of bowlers along with Shivam Dube who was picked from the domestic circuit to play for India, but the Mumbai all-rounder hadn’t had the numbers to lead a bowling line-up till yesterday when he slams dunk spearheaded the attack with Chahar to clinch the series for the country.
Chahar’s figures were as astonishing as the hat-trick that he took to overpower the Bangladeshi batting line-up with picking a record figure of 6 wickets for seven runs in his 3.2 overs. He was inarguably the pick of the bowlers to have dismantled the visiting team’s batting strength who looked cozy with the run chase till the 13th over with needing 65 runs to win off 42 balls, a feat very reachable and realistic in T20 cricket these day’s but the Indian bowlers had a different plan in mind and they executed that plan to perfection. As the ball got a little older, the bowlers started using they're go-to deliveries of Yorker and back of the long balls to cover the aging ball, and thus, in the process picked up crucial and swift wickets to grant India the win.
The Indian batting performance was also very good here at the VCA stadium in Nagpur and having posted a total of 174 on the back of solid performances by K L Rahul and Shreyas Iyer both of whom completed eventful and entertaining Half centuries in a bid to rescue the team and post a good total to boost India’s chances of winning the match and clinching the series. India won the series 2-1.
