As the nation of India is known for its political stage, the nation is yet to make climate change and pollution a political issue, which seems odd as the politicians of the nation have made any topic political but the ones that are required. The situation in Delhi, the capital of the nation, is like a concentration camp right now, and the air quality of the city is so miserable that it is just nearly impossible to live there and not have health consequences.
The situation of Delhi has always worsened at this time of the year but this year is something very special as the air quality index of the city has rocketed par 500 mark which is literally the worst air condition you could possibly live in, and there have been no major steps taken even to try to bring this down. This is caused due to the burning of crop season in the surrounding areas and the aftermath of the crackers of Diwali. The air in Delhi right now is equivalent to smoking 33 cigarettes a day that’s like one and a half boxes of cigarettes.
As the nation has the habit of making everything political there has been no party coming out and saying that we will resolve this, or this will be our primary agenda to fight pollution and make India a better place but as this is logical it won’t be on the political agenda of these politicians who only know hate politics.
