The Global Aerospace Summit 2020 will collectively bring together mergers, acquisitions (M&A), in addition to space leaders from international aerospace and aviation for the fifth edition of the summit. The summit will allegedly welcome more than 1,000 world’s leaders from the aviation and aerospace industry. Industry experts allege, the value of M&As in the industry worldwide reached $57.8 billion in 2018.In contrast the deal value was 83 per cent higher than the ten year average and was recorded to be the third largest in history. Based on a report by Deloitte, M&A in aerospace focused more on acquisitions which delivers new products and offers expansion into markets of Asia, Middle East and beyond. Consolidation among original equipment manufacturers has resulted into growth of major industry players with resources for expansive and forceful M&A strategies. Investment in defence and aerospace companies has also increased competition from adjacent industries such as software, for instance. The Global Aerospace Summit 2020 will address this topic among many others. In addition it will also focus on digital transformation, data driven insight which will further enhance performance, and develop smarter innovation. “The Global Aerospace Summit is a unique opportunity for the regional aerospace sector to showcase its capabilities and programmes alongside international partners and to demonstrate combined vision. The event creates a platform for the development of strong collaboration, as well as the chance to discover and promote mutual interests in the defence, space and aerospace sectors to a global audience. The Summit will showcase why the region is a center for incubation and innovative ideas to global stakeholders,” commented Khaled Abdulla Al Qubaisi, CEO of Aerospace, Renewables and ICT at Mubadala Investment Company.
