EU leaders decided that nuclear power would form part of the bloc's plan

The leaders of the European Union decided on Friday that nuclear power would form part of the bloc's plan to make it's economy carbon neutral by 2050, allowing them to gain support from two coal-dependent countries.

EU Heads of State and Government agreed to accept nuclear energy as a way of combating climate change as part of an agreement that supported the climate target.
