There have been a number of diseases in the United Kingdom, and most of them have been recorded, and there are treatments and drugs in the making to help cure and treat these diseases but what about the animal diseases that are also rising just as quick as the number of human diseases is rising. The United Kingdom has been experiencing a major issue with the horses in t=its region as they are suffering from some gastric disease that has been troubling the horses In the nation for a very long time now.
Gastric ulcers in horses are of two types equine squamous gastric disease (ESGD) and equine glandular gastric disease (EGGD). These are dependent on the position where they are present in the stomach. The researchers have stated that these two are completely different diseases, and treating one is not the treatment for the other, and they have found some great success in treating EGSD with some drugs. The researchers found that a combination of omeprazole and sucralfate, two drugs are known to treat ESGD effectively, is more effective in treating the disease than misoprostol. So this issue is solved as of now and is being generalized as a treatment for this disease.
The proper cure for EGGD is yet to be found and formulated. Although the diseases have similar characteristics, their biology is completely different, and they need two distinctive treatments to change the fate of the ulcers affecting the horses. So let’s see when the drugs for treatment for the latter come out.
