‘Gen 2 Cloud’ will be going live in the new region of Australia later this month

An announcement has been made by Oracle that its ‘Generation 2 Cloud’, also known as Gen 2 cloud, will be going live in Australia later this month, with an opening in a new region in Sydney.

The co-founder of the Oracle, as well as, the Chief Technology Officer ‘Larry Ellison’ stated in October during OpenWorld, that the new cloud offers automation and security features which are exclusively built for the enterprise.

This region comes together with 3 others launching this month in Zurich, Mumbai, and Sao Paulo. The firm has planned to have a total of nineteen regions by the end of this year.

Oracle has also intended to have another Australian “Gen 2 Cloud” region, with one scheduled to have its opening in Melbourne early 2020.

Vice President of the Oracle New Zealand and Australia, Lanovenko, stated that as more Australian businesses look for novel ways to generate value from their drive innovation and data, Oracle is also making heavy local investment to make sure that they have the perfect platform the transformation to take place they have the right platform for transformation.

He added that this is an entirely new class of cloud, which is designed from the ground up for both driving innovation and hosting mission-critical workloads.

Its novel cloud infrastructure provides customers with machine learning-integrated security, applications based on artificial intelligence, automated analytics, as well as, Oracle Autonomous Database.

This novel data center helps us in addressing the significant demand of the customers for Oracle Autonomous Database and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, as well as, to meet the local regulatory requirements, he added.

Ellison while announcing the novel Gen 2 cloud stated that the most significant part is the autonomous database.
