In the ‘Electric Vision’ event in the country, the Japanese manufacturer emphasized its ambitious targets of achieving 100% electrification of all the mainstream powertrains sold in Europe.
Focusing on the energy sustainability of the future, Honda shared its vision with the Europeans in a bid to showcase the technological might on which the future of transport vehicles shall be based.
Honda unveiled a list of 6 new electrified models that shall be launched within the next three years, and these vehicles shall range from mild hybrids to fully electrics with convertible powertrains that shall be the benchmark of the company.
Announcing the collaboration with Vattenfall, Honda signaled that they are looking for unifying all of the electric technology products and services under the branding ‘e: technology.’ They also said that the venture with Vattenfall, the Swedish energy major should help them commit to using renewable energy to sustain charging requirements.
The power grids and the infrastructure are a huge demand cost for the sustainability of electric mobility, and committing to use renewables for the purpose adds meaning to the developmental race that has been kicked started in the past decades. Honda is also in the learning curve of V6 turbo hybrid engines in a partnership with red bull, and Aston martin racing which the company aims to accommodate with its future road cars, the fuel efficiency of these cars is at about 50% which is 300% higher than that of an average road car.
