Human milk oligosaccharides help to prevent GBS infections in infants

A group of bacteria known as group B Streptococcus (GBS) is one of the major causes of stillbirths, blood infections and meningitis in infants. This GBS can be prevented by taking antibiotics, but like all bacteria they are becoming resistant to antibiotics.
