Hyundai, in its race to dominate the auto markets of the world, has been seen establishing newer and newer deals with significant nations like the United States and China, and now it has reached Indonesia in order to set a firm foot in the lesser-known. Lesser paid attention to the market, many other Korean companies have made their way to Indonesia as the new administration has been pushing the ties between the two nations and wanting some firms to make their debut in the Indonesian markets.
South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Co has signed a deal to build a US$1.55 billion auto plant in Indonesia, which is mostly seen as a market that has been dominated by the Japanese carmakers but we think that the trade war between South Korea and Japan is now going to be a global brawl and there will be no hole barred from this competition. So it will be interesting to see how the Korean carmakers face the Japanese competition in the Indonesian region, which they have dominated for a very long time. This move of Hyundai will be changing the whole auto market of the nation as well as the globe as the situation progresses. So we might be seeing some major launch battles in Indonesia pretty soon that could shake up the auto industry, which has been seeing a major slowdown.
Hyundai is new to the region and will be facing some challenges, but if it overcomes these then it will be a dominator of the market pretty soon
