Investors have grown used to Saint Nicholas at the end of the year leaving an extra present under their trees, and in 2019 the so-called Santa Claus rally could power the major benchmarks once again to record gains.
The Santa Claus rally is the nickname of Wall Street for the unusually strong stock-market gains typically seen over the last five trading days of the year and the first two trading days of the following year.
