India will become ‘Orwellian State’ with personal data protection bill

On Wednesday, personal data protection bill was placed in the parliament. The committee for the same was led by Justice BN Srikrishna. The bill exempts many of the centre’s agencies from almost all the provisions, which, according to Srikrishna is “dangerous” and capable of turning India into an “Orwellian State.”
