GE Healthcare has launched a new initiative to encourage the integration of AI and Healthcare services. The new program is called the Edison Developer Program and is an AI platform that enables leveraging data from imaging devices. According to Kieran Murphy, the President and CEO of GE Healthcare, the Edison Program was launched to help healthcare providers benefit from provided data in new and notable ways. He also said that with the introduction of new devices and applications powered by the Edison Program, they are working with their partners and heading towards the better future of health care services. According to GE Healthcare, while using AI in healthcare services is beneficial, its implementation is difficult and time-consuming. GE wishes to integrate AI into the already existing workflow to aide their clientele and patients in an easier manner and at a faster rate. GE Healthcare will incorporate new AI applications in their existing healthcare solutions. According to the company, the Edison platform has great potential encompassing secure connectivity, data accumulation for clinical context, advanced visualization along with AI facilities for data traceability, curation, annotation, model training, and inference. The company also believes that the Edison platform will reduce the complexity of developing and integrating AI and data-based applications with the workflow of healthcare providers. The company also assures that the members that use the program are thoroughly evaluated and have regulatory clearance to ensure that the solutions offered aren’t misused. GE Healthcare is working with a number of AI and analytics companies to develop better solutions.
