We first reported on an Intel graphics driver patch that mitigates a flaw in the "Gen9" graphics hardware. Details are coming to light on that new security disclosure and it turns out older Intel "Gen" graphics are also affected.
The Linux kernel patch for this earlier merged hardware defect was for the very popular Gen9 graphics, essentially from Skylake through all of today's pre-Icelake relevant / shipping ....
