In 2013 Google X's semi-secret research and development laboratory began selling a Google Glass version. This wearable device was arguably the world's first "digital eyeglasses" supplementary fact. The glasses allowed users to perform a number of applications. Such applications involved accessing features such as Google Maps, translation services, Email, photo manipulation and facial recognition.
