Japan plans own satellite system for agricultural data

Japan decided to stop relying on US satellites for farm related data. The country plans to predict patterns on global agricultural production based on data from satellite monitoring separate from the data provided by US satellites. The project is estimated to take three years to be fully operational.

The step was taken to ensure better prediction of the production volume of soybeans, wheat, rice and other crops by the country itself.....
