Metal Pollution threats coral reefs, new research suggests

A new study suggests a threat to soft coral sea fans by metal (copper) pollution in the waters around Puerto Rico. The source of copper has been found out to be marine paint leaching from boat hulls and agricultural runoff. 

The Cornell-led study is conducted by Allison Tracy, ecologist, with Drew Harvell, professor, marine biology and is published in the journal Ecological Applications.
