Drugs have been the prime focus of the news these days as they have been killing people more than diseases and bullets have been killing, the most tragic and the hyped event of this was when last month a woman along with her kids was killed in an ambush between the drug cartels, and this is something I think that has incited a lot of hate towards the drug smuggling and illegal drug trafficking industry.
In 2017 when the drugs were not that on a high of a rise, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Missouri recorded 952 opioid overdose deaths. Fatalities from synthetic opioids mostly fentanyl which has been the major cause of deaths in the drug world these days other than meth and the new meth 2.0, which is 100 times stronger than morphine has skyrocketed in Missouri from 56 deaths in 2012 to 618 in the same year which is a huge rise. Missouri senator josh Hawley has stated that the issue cannot be resolved until the flow of these illegal drugs is controlled by the Mexican border and the United States border that has been the key in the smuggling of these deadly drugs and has been giving rise to some major issues.
So it all boils down to the Mexican situation of the drug cartels, we think that it is high time and the governments of both the nation’s should take the initiative and help resolve this issue as soon as they can.
