The 18th NAM Summit at Baku in Azerbaijan commencing on 25-26th October 2019 and the nations are gathering to attend it. The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a forum of 120 developing world states that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc or any other major issue in the countries that are a part of the summit.
The NAM summit is an initiative of the Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and India should be proudly attending it but instead, Modi has opted to skip it as he did previously too. It was a tradition that all the prime ministers after the formation have attended the NAM summit and this is being broken by Narendra Modi. The summit is really good for the issues of the smaller nations involved they get a stage to speak their concerns to reach the leaders of 120 countries. You speak you shout at once aim all campaigns and all media outlets you won’t be able to reach 120 world leaders at once it is only NAM summit that has given us the power to do that.
So as the Prime Minister Modi does not attend the NAM summit has started and we are sure to see talks on the Kashmir situation as our neighbors are also at the summit and they won't fail to raise a concern on the global stage that only these people get and no one else. Let’s see how this works out for India and other nations.
