New island formed in Japan, as submerged volcano erupts

A submarine volcano started erupting in the south of Tokyo, giving rise to a new island. This new island is located around 1200 kilometres south of Tokyo, near Iwoto. The coast guard told on Monday that the volcano began erupting last week.

This is a C shaped island, with a diameter of one kilometre. The volcano was discovered in the Ogasawara Island in the Pacific Ocean on Friday.
