Being able to predict the future is one of the most common and desired theories of all time. Humans believe knowing the future will help us prevent disasters from happening and being able to anticipate every scenario to help us control our own present. This idea was long debated through history and well-executed in movies.
However, it also inspired a team of scientists to develop a quantum device that might actually predict the future. This quantum device is said to predict all possible future scenarios which eventually will have one scenario to occur.
This device will help humans anticipate all the outcomes of any decision which will help control the future if used wisely. Being able to know the positives and negatives of any decision will definitely have a strong impact on different fields including entrepreneurship, medicine, politics and even betting industry.
The study was led by a team from the Griffith University and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. It was led by the developer of the quantum algorithm, Assistant Professor Mile Gu.
He commented on his invention saying, “When we think about the future, we are confronted by a vast array of possibilities. These possibilities grow exponentially as we go deeper into the future. For instance, even if we have only two possibilities to choose from each minute, in less than half an hour there are 14 million possible futures. In less than a day, the number exceeds the number of atoms in the universe.”
