North Korea launched four ballistic missiles into the sea on Saturday, while the United States sent two supersonic bombers racing over South Korea in a show of military force that highlighted escalating tensions in the region.

According to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff, four short-range missiles fired from a western coastal area about noon flew around 130 kilometers (80 miles) into the country's western sea.
