NTM infections on rise, elderly and women at higher risk

The incidence and prevalence of nontuberculous mycobacterial lung disease is increasing. As per the research published in Annals of the American Thoracic Society, the number of existing patients as well as the number of people newly infected each year is rising. Women and elder people of age 65 and above were particularly found to be at higher risk.
