One year after the River Valley High School deaths, parents paying more attention to their children's mental health and less to their academic performance

In the past, Ms Elaine Tan's priority was helping her child achieve academic success.

Her main concern right now is seeing to it that her daughter is content and psychologically sound.

She has adopted a more lenient parenting style in the last year or so towards her daughter, a second-year junior college student at River Valley High School (RVHS).

A 16-year-old student there is accused of killing a 13-year-old....
