A rash of medication recalls associated with potentially carcinogenic N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) has patients across the U.S. concerned about the safety of their medicines. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced on December 4 that it would start testing for type 2 diabetes drug metformin to see if the drug contains NDMA threatening levels.
