Latest reports suggest the government of India is providing a Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of Rs 5,500 crore to the North-East gas grid.

News sources allege the Prime Minister’s Office has agreed to the proposal of the oil ministry to extend 60% of budgetary support to the allegedly Rs 9200 crore gas grid project of North East India. Official sources reveal the proposal would be soon sent to the Cabinet.
