The non-permanent members from Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana, and the United Arab Emirates who are leaving will be replaced by the five new members.
South Korea, Algeria, Guyana, Sierra Leone, and Slovenia were chosen for a two-year term as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.
The new members will start their jobs on January 1, 2024, and stay until December 31, 2025, according to the Xinhua news agency.
