Singapore has officially opened its fifth desalination plant, which is 5% more energy efficient

Singapore officially launched the country's fifth desalination plant on Sunday (April 17), which is around 5% more energy efficient than traditional desalination facilities.

The Jurong Island Desalination Plant may save around 5,000-megawatt hours per year due to its co-location with an existing power plant, which is comparable to the yearly electricity demands of over 1,000 Housing and Development Board dwellings.
