Singapore has been chosen to host the Tour de France Criterium event in October, making it the first Southeast Asian nation to do so.

The race, which is being sponsored by Prudential Singapore, a life insurance business, is slated to take place on October 29 and 30 and will include 32 cyclists from eight of the top professional cycling teams in the globe.
