Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani, the top commander of the Quds Revolutionary Guards elite, supported Iran with inspiring battlefield militias and negotiating with political leaders to fight proxy wars across the Middle East.
He died on Friday in the airstrike on the Baghdad airport convoy at the United States, Israel, and Teheran's regional foe, Saudi Arabia, were the beginnings of a man who was famous in his country.
