SOUTH KOREAN AUTOMAKERS WANT THE COUNTRY TO EASE 52-HOUR WORKWEEK RULE

• 31 auto parts makers of South Korea have petitioned for easing the country’s 52-hour workweek rule.
• Under the current labor standards act, companies under special circumstances can get an extension in working hours provided labor ministry approves the plea.
• The extension was demanded due to the supply shortages in the market because of the Wuhan virus.
