The United States has been fighting the drug war on many fronts, and the drug issue of the nation has been just expanding and we are thinking that the issues of the drug crisis of the nation will now be seeing some very international concerns as a United States commander has stated some major statements on the nation of Venezuela in terms of drugs and narcotics.
The statement comes from Admiral Craig Faller commander of the U.S. Southern Command as he stated that the drug and narcotics cartel leaders are getting some serious passages in the Venezuelan country as they have been a major part of financing the government of the Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. This has been making it very hard for the United States to monitor and interdict illegal drugs in the nation, which can lead to a serious issue in the future. The southern command has been a major player in the drug war, and the drugs that it intercepts and confiscates have been a major help in curbing the drug crisis. In 2018 it intercepted 280 metric tons of drugs, which resulted in a 5 percent decline in the overdose deaths in the United States.
So Venezuela should take this issue seriously, and we think that the nation of the United States should be very careful about such statements, and these statements could hurt the ties between the nation, which have been fragile. So we need to see some major changes to the international drug scene to curb the issue in the United States.
