Stocks are rising on Wall Street as the rally continues to the fourth day in the wake of optimistic China signs

KEEPING SCORE: As of noon Eastern time, the S&P 500 is up 0.9 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average has risen to 28,317 by 182 points or 0.6%, and the Nasdaq composite has risen by 1%.

CHINA STRENGTH: Industrial production in China rose 6.2 percent from the previous year, up from 4.7 percent in the previous month. Growth in retail sales rose to a 5-month peak of 8 percent from 7.2 percent in October.
