Swedish scientist receives the Nobel Prize in Medicine for work on evolution

Swedish researcher Svante Paabo has been given this year's Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine for his research on human evolution.

The prize was revealed on Monday at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, by Thomas Perlmann, secretary of the Nobel Committee.
