There is going to be a partnership between the Lagos State Government & Germany on the transfer of knowledge for the safety & occupational health in the state.
The Chief Executive Officer, as well as, Director General of Lagos State Safety Commission, Hakeem Dickson, spoke in Southwest Nigeria while receiving delegates from Germany.
He stated that the state was committed to the general safety of lives & property of residents, therefore the idea the behind the enhancement of the knowledge transfer for occupational safety and health, which would result in many Nigerians affording the opportunity of safeguarding themselves in any event of emergencies, occurrences, and disastrous incidents.
The Director-General stated that it was in fulfillment of its order which made his agency, in collaboration with the Safety Advocacy Empowerment Foundation, met with technocrats, headed by Dr. Christian Bechmann & Steven Time from Germany.
He described that the complete idea was to boost methodology in the area of presentation, as various methods would be employed, even those in undergraduates & secondary schools, by the time we train them on the safety, it would improve their employability.
He revealed that the German team would be initiated by giving training to 50 people, however only 6 out of the number would be shortlisted to end up studying in German before they would come back to the country eventually to train around 23k people, including every segment in Nigeria, otherwise famous as the train the trainers, which had received approval from the European Commission.
According to him, the whole idea is to train us, what exactly we want and the way we go about it. So, they would be going back to Germany & write a summary of what we want and then develop their curriculum for us & return to train 50 people.
