The Special Adviser for Rwanda at the United Nations has expressed his satisfaction with the trial's opening.

The International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) in The Hague is set to hear opening remarks in the case against Félicien Kabuga on Thursday and Friday.

Mr. Kabuga, it is said in the charge against him, helped form the radio station Radio Télévision Libre des Mille Collines, whose programming incited violence and hatred against members of the Tutsi ethnic group and others.
