Trade war, Hong Kong protests predicted to hit global retail sales growth in 2020

A report issued on Wednesday reported that global retail sales growth will be slow by 2020 as the industry grapples with the ongoing ramifications of the US-China trade war and intensified online competition.

The Economist Intelligence Unit said revenue growth will slow to 2,2% next year, compared to 2,5% in 2019. Yet inflation would accelerate in the US dollar, exceeding US$ 20.2 trillion by 4.8 percent.
