A big challenge has come up for one of the most successful online dating site -Tinder and social media is going crazy with the response from people across the globe. According to the latest updates, the popular dating site is getting negative complaints from transgender people that they are not being treated respectfully. Especially trans women are not feeling happy and safe with the overall treatment they have been experiencing while using the platform. Most of the trans people have deleted their Tinder profiles after the harassment and Tinder isn’t sitting quiet either. Latest updates say that Tinder is making many changes to curb the issue.
Transgender people have been receiving many “unfair” complaints of late and the irony is that most of the complaints are for “being who they really are”. Tinder has a policy of automatic ban on profiles receiving many complaints. This rule affected trans people in a negative manner and most of the trans profiles were deleted after receiving “unfair” complaints.
BBC said that a trans woman was shocked to receive an automated message from Tinder with community guidelines, after which she contacted Avalon. Most of the trans women considered Tinder a “safe platform” to meet people and share views and ideas.
Trans people are disheartened and feel insulted after the “unfair ban” and are hence seeking the right treatment after the App makes relevant changes. The app is receiving many positive ideas from people in the form of messages. These suggestions might be of great help for Tinder in tackling the issue.
